Minima

Any suggestions for the material for my yellow "coffin". I found a new product called Valchromat which is an MDF that is available in bright colours and coloured through the whole thickness . It is UV resistant and moisture resistant, which caught my eye, but I suspect not good for exposed conditions such as a jetty except for the short term (but maybe thats ok because its demountable.) Any other materials? Would yellow moulded plastic be an option?

Maybe that material you found would be fine as the whole idea of the shelter is that it is not permanent. The next spot it may be located might be in the middle of a desert where there is no rain or exposure to the sea.
Could you make it in one moulded plastic piece that kind of attached from the inside. Plastic would be light weight. If it is in one piece it would be easy just to pop through a hole in the side of the dwelling and hey presto your bed is made.

Any product that offers some properties for insulation, permability etc. are good. Alucabond style aluminium, or some sort of Shadow Clad...but neither are very good with moulding, actually Alucabond is!!!
